Baseball Recap: TEACH Homeschool Has No Trouble Against Stonebridge

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association, TEACH Homeschool was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the StoneBridge Cavaliers. The matchup marked the Beach Breakers' most dominant win of the season.

Conner Burcker looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. TEACH Homeschool is 2-1 when Burcker allows two or fewer hits, but 3-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Zach Daniels was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Schwindt, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

TEACH Homeschool always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

TEACH Homeschool pushed their record up to 5-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for StoneBridge, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. TEACH Homeschool will welcome Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for StoneBridge, they will host Atlantic Shores Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seahawks' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Cavaliers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
