There's no place like home for Liberty, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Lake Washington Kangaroos on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Avery Huh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Huh was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Emi Connell and Kaila Siu did most of the damage at the plate: Connell went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Siu went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Siu has posted since back in April of 2024. Isabella Rockey was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Lake Washington, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.
Looking ahead, Liberty will venture away from home to square off against Eastlake at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Lake Washington, they will host Skyline at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
