Softball Preview: Wylie East Raiders vs. Lakeview Centennial Patriots

Wylie East is 3-0 against Lakeview Centennial since March of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Wylie East Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakeview Centennial Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Lakeview Centennial took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wylie East, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, while Wylie East put up plenty of runs, the same can't be said for North Garland. Wylie East was the clear victor by a 22-0 margin over North Garland. The victory was just what Wylie East needed coming off of a 6-0 defeat in their prior game.

Kinley Kovar looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Wylie East got a massive performance out of Gabby Flores, who went 4-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Meanwhile, sadly, Lakeview Centennial is still looking for their first win of the season after 18 matchups. Their tough 15-0 loss to Rowlett on Friday might stick with them for a while.
