Softball Recap: Oceanside Comes Up Short

Oceanside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Nayeli Adame was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Irie Filo, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for San Dieguito Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Oceanside will challenge rival Canyon Crest Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, San Dieguito Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
