Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Eagles vs. MMI Preparatory School

The Mountain View Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against MMI Preparatory School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Mountain View proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Carbondale Area. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won three in a row.

Josh Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Tanner Holtsmaster also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, MMI Preparatory School came up short against Hanover Area on Thursday and fell 11-7. MMI Preparatory School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nick Pantages made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

MMI Preparatory School now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Mountain View, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mountain View has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like MMI Preparatory School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Mountain View's way against MMI Preparatory School when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Mountain View made off with a 9-0 win.
