The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Eagle Pass nor United South made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Eagles fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Del Rio came into Thursday's contest having lost 17 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Medina Valley by a score of 6-3 on Thursday.

Eagle Pass' defeat dropped their record down to 15-11-1. As for Del Rio, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 3-18.

Eagle Pass was able to grind out a solid win over Del Rio when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
