Lincoln Southeast had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over the Lincoln North Star Navigators on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-47 back in December of 2024.

Lincoln Southeast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mike Ngoyi, who posted 19 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chewy Thoat, who earned 11 points and seven boards.

Despite the loss, Lincoln North Star still got an impressive performance from Sam Schaefer, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Schaefer a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rieal Acin, who put up seven points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Lincoln Southeast, bringing their record for this year to 17-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Lincoln North Star, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-6.

Lincoln Southeast has already played their next match, a 56-52 loss against Omaha Westside on the 14th. Lincoln North Star does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
