Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Eagles vs. Waterloo Pirates
Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waterloo Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.
Ella Fetherston paced Jefferson's offense, picking up nine kills. Fetherston got some help from Finley Sikora and her 20 assists. Fetherston was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Jefferson has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Palmyra-Eagle on the 26th. As for Waterloo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against New Berlin Eisenhower on the 26th.
