Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty lost against Sherman back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Liberty Raiders took a 47-32 bruising from the Sherman Tide. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from Ava Yates, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Yates has been hot recently, having also posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Brooklyn Brown was another key player, putting up six points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Sherman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-36 victory against Man on the 17th. As for Sherman, they will venture away from home to square off against Meadow Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
