Soccer Game Preview: Austin vs. Waltrip

The Austin Mustangs will square off against the Waltrip Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Austin played against Spring Woods and lost via forfeit.

Waltrip's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Carnegie Vanguard.

Waltrip is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four matches. As for Austin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Austin suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Waltrip in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Austin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
