Basketball Recap: Breakthrough Charter Comes Up Short

Breakthrough Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Billingsley Bears, falling 42-17. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Breakthrough Charter this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-15 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Derrica Motley, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and five assists for Billingsley. Motley is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. McKenna Manning was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Breakthrough Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Billingsley, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Breakthrough Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Billingsley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-45 loss against Marion on the 14th.
