Baseball Preview: Gaylesville Trojans vs. Pisgah Eagles

The Gaylesville Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Pisgah Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gaylesville had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Skyline 4-2.

Collin Hendon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Gaylesville got a massive performance out of Kuper Bradley, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Jack Sentell was another key contributor, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases.

Pisgah was handed a six-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Valley Head on Monday. Pisgah sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Valley Head. The win was just what Pisgah needed coming off of a 7-1 loss in their prior matchup.

Luke Gilbert was excellent, going 3-for-3 with two runs and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Smalley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Gaylesville's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-9-1. As for Pisgah, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4.
