Baseball Recap: James F. Byrnes Triumphs

James F. Byrnes won the last time they faced Riverside and things went their way on Monday too. The Rebels won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.

Connor Crenshaw was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Easton Keels looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for James F. Byrnes: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 5-6 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Jordan Perez and Jake Moss did most of the damage at the plate: Perez scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Moss scored a run while going 2-for-4.

James F. Byrnes' victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Riverside, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-7.

James F. Byrnes will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
