Basketball Game Preview: Jacksonville Titans vs. Mills University Studies Comets

Jacksonville is 2-8 against Mills University Studies since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jacksonville Titans are taking a road trip to square off against the Mills University Studies Comets at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Jacksonville took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-44 victory over Stuttgart. The win was all the more spectacular given the Titans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Ricebirds are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Mills University Studies had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Saturday. They blew past the Cyclones 68-39. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Mills University Studies pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.4 points. As for Jacksonville, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Jacksonville suffered a grim 64-41 defeat to Mills University Studies when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Jacksonville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
