Volleyball Recap: Austin Prep Falls Despite Big Games from Barbara Shepley and Abbie Quill

It was a proper cat-fight when Austin Prep took on Winsor on Wednesday. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Wildcats. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

While Austin Prep ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19.

Austin Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Abbie Quill, who had 19 digs and seven aces, and Barbara Shepley, who had eight digs and three aces. Quill is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Austin Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Austin Prep will look to defend their home court on Saturday against MacDuffie at 2:00 p.m. As for Winsor, they will challenge Dexter Southfield at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
