Baseball Game Preview: New Smyrna Beach Barracudas vs. Atlantic Sharks

New Smyrna Beach has won three straight games at home, while Atlantic has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The New Smyrna Beach Barracudas will host the Atlantic Sharks at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (New Smyrna Beach: 3.4, Atlantic: 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

If New Smyrna Beach beats Atlantic with seven runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. New Smyrna Beach skirted past Lake Mary 7-5.

Teague Carosella was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Atlantic beat Titusville 5-1 on Monday. That four run margin sets a new team best for the Sharks this season.

The team relied heavily on Jayden Lombardi, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Chance Hedges also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Atlantic's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for New Smyrna Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

New Smyrna Beach was able to grind out a solid win over Atlantic in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, winning 10-5. Will New Smyrna Beach repeat their success, or does Atlantic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
