Basketball Game Preview: Newnan Cougars vs. Morrow Mustangs

Newnan hasn't had much luck against Morrow recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will welcome the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Newnan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Morrow likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Newnan made easy work of McIntosh and carried off a 75-52 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Morrow, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They strolled past Dutchtown with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 51-37. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Morrow's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Newnan, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Newnan came up short against Morrow in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, falling 53-44. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
