Basketball Game Preview: Carroll Tigers vs. Ballard Bombers

The Carroll Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Ballard Bombers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Carroll turned things around against Storm Lake on Saturday. They managed a 57-53 victory over the Tornadoes. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Tornadoes are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, Ballard put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 76-60 victory over Gilbert.

Ballard's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Carroll came up short against Ballard in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 63-56. Can Carroll avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
