Softball Game Preview: Clarksdale Wildcats vs. Cleveland Central Wolves

The Clarksdale Wildcats will head out to take on the Cleveland Central Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarksdale hasn't scored more than a single run for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Clarksdale and Lafayette meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. Clarksdale came up short against Lafayette, falling 17-1.

Meanwhile, Cleveland Central fell victim to Grenada and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to the Chargers. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Clarksdale's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Cleveland Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Clarksdale might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Cleveland Central in their previous meeting back in March of 2018. Can Clarksdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
