Football Game Preview: Santa Fe Raiders vs. University Christian Christians

Two dominant signal callers in Brooke Zeller and Elissa Murdock are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Santa Fe Raiders will head out to face off against the University Christian Christians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Santa Fe will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Thursday, Santa Fe didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Buchholz, but they still walked away with a 18-14 victory.

It was another big night for Zeller, who threw for 245 yards and two TDs while completing 72.7% of her passes, and also rushed for 60 yards and one score.

Santa Fe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Zeller.

Meanwhile, University Christian put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 13-6 win over Tocoi Creek.

University Christian's win came from a few key players Santa Fe will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Murdock, who threw for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns. She was even better on defense, picking up three sacks, making three total tackles, and defending four passes. A healthy portion of Murdock's aerial production (97 yards to be exact) went to Abbey Mehm, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

One reason for the win was University Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Murdock was especially locked on to Tocoi Creek's QB and sacked her three times.

University Christian pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.5 points on average over those games. As for Santa Fe, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
