Basketball Recap: Clarkdale Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Clarkdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They rang in the new year with a 59-51 win over the Ethel Tigers on Friday.

Cade Culpepper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Clarkdale's points. Nathan Moore was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Clarkdale is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Ethel, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarkdale and Union will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Ethel, they will challenge Noxapater at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
