Football Recap: Scott County Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Highlands

Scott County faced Highlands in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cardinals received a blow as they fell 42-28 to the Bluebirds. The Cardinals have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Tayden Lorenzen produced another solid performance rushing for 103 yards and five touchdowns for Highlands. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Lorenzen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rio Litmer, who threw for 122 yards and one TD while completing 88.9% of his passes.

Scott County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Highlands, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Scott County nor the Bluebirds have any future games scheduled.
