Basketball Game Preview: Buchanan Bears vs. Clovis North Broncos

Buchanan is 0-10 against Clovis North since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Buchanan Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Clovis North Broncos at 5:30 p.m. Buchanan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Buchanan will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Clovis West, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Buchanan enjoyed a cozy 72-58 victory over Clovis West on Friday. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 119th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clovis North came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 82-56 win.

Clovis North's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.6 points per game. As for Buchanan, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.

Buchanan might still be hurting after the 80-58 defeat they got from Clovis North in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Buchanan was down 46-25.
