Montpelier is 8-2 against Spaulding since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Montpelier Solons will challenge the Spaulding Crimson Tide at 11:00 a.m. Montpelier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Spaulding likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Montpelier got the win against Harwood by a conclusive 71-49. That's two games straight that the Solons have won by exactly 22 points.

Montpelier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clayton Foster, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points in addition to six assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Atif Milak, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Montpelier smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

While Spaulding didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They secured a 67-61 W over North Country Union on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Crimson Tide as they're now sitting on three straight.

Spaulding pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Montpelier, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Montpelier against Spaulding when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured an 82-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montpelier since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
