The Carrabec Cobras will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Richmond Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Carrabec, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Carrabec got the win against Greenville by a conclusive 21-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cobras.
Jillian Robinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Robinson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Carrabec let Adawna Landry and Amiya Tibbetts run wild. Landry went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Tibbetts went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiyana Tibbetts, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Telstar hit Richmond with a nine-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bobcats fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 12-10.
Breonna Dufresne and Charlotte Crawson did some serious damage despite the final result: Dufresne got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Crawson got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Dufresne is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Emma Valley, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Carrabec's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 12.3 runs thus far. As for Richmond, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Carrabec took their win against Richmond when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-8 score. Will the Cobras repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
