Langley had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They blew past the Wakefield Warriors 10-0. Give the Saxons' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
 Norah Jacques was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  run and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Megan Connery was  excellent,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.  Zoe Matincheck also deserves some recognition as  she  brought in her first  RBI of the season.
 Langley  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  hit total in three consecutive  games.
Langley's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 15-5-1. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wakefield,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 7-7.
 Coming up, Langley will be playing in front of their home fans against George C. Marshall  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Saxons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Statesmen have averaged an impressive 7.1  runs per game this season. Wakefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
