Recap: Quartz Hill Royals vs. Don Lugo Conquistadores
Even though the Don Lugo Conquistadores scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, the Quartz Hill Royals still came out on top. Quartz Hill skirted past Don Lugo 60-58. Given Quartz Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Don Lugo is ranked 589th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ty'Jahwuan Jackson was on fire: he dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerimiah Williams , who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Quartz Hill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Don Lugo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Quartz Hill will head out on the road to face off against Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Don Lugo, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Ayala at 6:30 p.m.
