Baseball Game Preview: Abingdon Commandos vs. Stark County Rebels

The Abingdon Commandos will head out to take on the Stark County Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Abingdon can't be too happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Saturday. They fell just short of Canton by a score of 2-1.

Brimfield hit Stark County with a nine-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels lost 15-5 to the Indians. The Rebels' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Stark County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Daum, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Trevor Webster also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Abingdon skirted past Stark County 7-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Do the Commandos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
