Baseball Recap: Chester Comes Up Short

Chester had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-8 to make it four. They lost 15-5 to the Interboro Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-3 defeat back in April.

Neaven Diaz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

As for Interboro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

On Interboro's side, they let Nick Rivera and Austin Dean run wild. Rivera got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one double, while Dean went 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Rivera a new career-high. Scott Poluchuck was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chester will host Academy Park at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something the Clippers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Interboro, they will be playing at home against Sun Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
