Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Minerva). Their defense stepped up to hand the Edison Wildcats a 9-0 shutout on Saturday. Kyleigh Lippincott was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Minerva's lineup was just a bit different on Saturday as Lexie Yonkey got a bit more time on the pitch (60 vs. her season average of 34.2). Yonkey made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Minerva's victory bumped their record up to 5-6-2. As for Edison, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11-1.

Coming up, Minerva will head out to square off against Ridgewood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Edison, they will be playing at home against Oak Glen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
