Baseball Recap: Nature Coast Tech Wins Going Away Against Weeki Wachee

Nature Coast Tech owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They blew past the Weeki Wachee Hornets 7-0. The matchup marked the Sharks' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Not much got past JACKSON HOYT, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Weeki Wachee off the board. HOYT has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nature Coast Tech's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was MARIO DEANGELIS, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. JOEY VANCLEAVE also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Nature Coast Tech's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs over those games. As for Weeki Wachee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Nature Coast Tech will head out to challenge Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nature Coast Tech's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Cypress Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Weeki Wachee, they will host Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pasco will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Weeki Wachee surely won't give up without a fight.
