Volleyball Recap: Whittier Christian Comes Up Short

Whittier Christian lost against Village Christian back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Heralds came up short against the Crusaders, falling 3-0. The Heralds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-13.

Village Christian found their leader in sophomore Walton Salazar, who had three digs and two aces. Salazar has been hot, having also posted 18 or more assists the last five times he's played.

Whittier Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Village Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whittier Christian will face off against Valley Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Village Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Pasadena at 5:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
