Basketball Recap: Justin Geter Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcons Win

Southeast Guilford got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They snuck past the Ragsdale Tigers with a 64-58 win on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-65 back in December of 2024.

Southeast Guilford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Geter led the charge by going 7 of 13 on his way to 20 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jayce Brannon, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Ragsdale lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Josiah Beatty, who posted 15 points and eight assists. Those 15 points gave Beatty a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahveer Branch, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Southeast Guilford pushed their record up to 6-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Ragsdale, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Southeast Guilford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 75-59 loss against Northwest Guilford on the 9th. As for Ragsdale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-50 defeat against Southwest Guilford on the 9th.
