Football Game Preview: Hopkins Vikings vs. Fruitport Trojans

The Hopkins Vikings will take on the Fruitport Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Hopkins is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 45 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Reed City on Friday. The matchup between the Vikings and the Coyotes didn't end well, with the Vikings falling 21-7. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Coyotes are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Fruitport humbled Holland with a 45-6 victory. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win got Fruitport back to even at 4-4. As for Hopkins, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-4.

Hopkins strolled past Fruitport when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 27-12. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
