Volleyball Recap: Megan Christian's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clearwater Central Catholic over Academy of the Holy Names

Clearwater Central Catholic suffered their biggest defeat since August 19th on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Friday.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-12, 25-19.

Clearwater Central Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Megan Christian, who had 14 digs.

Clearwater Central Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Academy of the Holy Names, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Clearwater Central Catholic will head out to face off against Tampa Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Academy of the Holy Names, they will host Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
