Oberlin hasn't had much luck against Columbia recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Oberlin The Phoenix will venture away from home to challenge the Columbia Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oberlin took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Clearview. The win was some much needed relief for the The Phoenix as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

In the three sets Oberlin was on fire: they won each by at least eight points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 22-25, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oberlin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Tackett, who had 16 digs, nine kills, and two blocks. Tackett is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucinda Ulichney, who had five aces and four digs.

Ulichney wasn't the only one working in the aces department: Oberlin was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since was before the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Columbia got the win against Keystone on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

After all that action, the final score was 25-15, 27-25, 25-23.

Oberlin's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Columbia, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
