Grimsley hadn't done well against Ragsdale recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Grimsley walked away with a 6-1 victory over Ragsdale. The win was nothing new for the Whirlies as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Clay Rosser made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Noah Christensen looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Davis Cook was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Gabe Doolen was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Grimsley's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Ragsdale, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grimsley will square off against Southeast Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Grimsley 2.4, Southeast Alamance 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Ragsdale, they will take on Northeast Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ragsdale will need to watch out since Northeast Guilford has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
