Softball Recap: Riverbank Bruins vs. Bret Harte Bullfrogs
Riverbank had lost 17 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-24-1 to make it 18. They lost 11-5 to the Bret Harte Bullfrogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bullfrogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-4 defeat back in April.

Maya Guzman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Guzman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Arizona Navarro, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple was Navarro's first of the season.
As for Bret Harte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.
Like Riverbank, Bret Harte also got a great game from a two-way player: Madison Kane. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Kane was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Rylee Banks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Mariah Colwell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
