Baseball Recap: Palisades' Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Palisades was riding high fresh off their 31-15 takedown of Catasauqua on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates fell 11-6 to the Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders on Wednesday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jackson Butler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Palisades is 3-1 when Butler posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Camp, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Palisades' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palisades will take on Salisbury Township at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, they will challenge Pen Argyl at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight.
