Basketball Recap: Garden City Takes a Loss

Garden City lost against Olathe Northwest back in January of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Garden City Buffaloes were dealt a 58-20 loss at the hands of the Olathe Northwest Ravens. The matchup marked the Buffaloes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Olathe Northwest was led to victory by Gavin Popik and Jj Lee. Popik went 8 of 17 on his way to 18 points and three steals, while Lee dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. The contest was Popik's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cash Christiansen, who posted seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Garden City and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Olathe Northwest, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Garden City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-51 defeat against Maize on the 24th. Olathe Northwest has also already played their next game, a 46-45 win against Seaman on the 24th.
