Preview: L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders vs. Utica Eisenhower Eagles
The L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Utica Eisenhower Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for L'Anse Creuse North and four for Utica Eisenhower.
L'Anse Creuse North suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Grosse Pointe South, falling 61-20. While losing is never fun, L'Anse Creuse North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while Grosse Pointe South is ranked 186th).
Meanwhile, Utica Eisenhower's 17-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Dakota 69-41 on Tuesday. Utica Eisenhower has not had much luck with Dakota recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
L'Anse Creuse North dropped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Utica Eisenhower, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
L'Anse Creuse North was dealt a bruising 68-33 defeat at the hands of Utica Eisenhower in their previous matchup on January 9th. Can L'Anse Creuse North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
