Basketball Recap: Alyssa Pracha's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Burroughs over Millikan

Burroughs saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell to the Millikan Rams 32-28. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bears came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Rams are ranked 487th).

Burroughs lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alyssa Pracha, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Pracha a new career-high in steals (seven). Isabella Amayakyan was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 10 points.

Burroughs has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Millikan, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burroughs will host Arcadia at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Burroughs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. Millikan has already played their next game (against Lakewood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
