Softball Recap: Liberty Lions vs. Antioch Panthers
Liberty stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Antioch Panthers a 10-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for Liberty as they're now sitting on five straight.
Liberty got a great performance from Kate Skinner as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Skinner has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Jewel Cooper was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaileigh Mares, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Liberty pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Antioch, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.
