Basketball Game Preview: Dixie County Bears vs. Fort White Indians

The Dixie County Bears will head out on the road to take on the Fort White Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort White took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dixie County, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Dixie County turned things around against Bell last Friday. They secured a 53-49 W over the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Fort White came up short against Madison County on Saturday and fell 52-42. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Indians came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Cowboys are ranked 238th).

Dixie County will have to keep a close watch on Ya'Zuri Hollie and Isreal Hart, a pair of players who had a big impact on Fort White's prior game. Hollie posted 23 points, while Hart scored 18 points. The contest was Hart's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Dixie County's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-6. As for Fort White, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Dixie County was taken down by Fort White 66-27 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dixie County was down 46-12.
