Basketball Game Preview: Marion Center Stingers vs. Homer-Center Wildcats

The Marion Center Stingers will take on the Homer-Center Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Marion Center has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Homer-Center will come in with three straight victories.

On Thursday, Marion Center was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to River Valley.

Meanwhile, everything went Homer-Center's way against Purchase Line on Thursday as Homer-Center made off with a 61-36 win.

Homer-Center has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Marion Center, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Marion Center didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Homer-Center in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marion Center since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
