While Marionville's victory against Stockton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Comets had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Comets have posted since September 28, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-93) Marionville actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 15-25, 25-21, 25-19, 16-14.

Despite the defeat, Stockton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aleah Daulton had eight digs and two aces.

The victory snapped Marionville's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 5-6-2 record. As for Stockton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12-2 record this season.

Marionville will take on Ash Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stockton, they will square off against Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
