League recap: Schloesser dominating on the mound for Montgomery-Lonsdale

Montgomery-Lonsdale's Jared Schloesser was the best pitcher in the league this week. He picked up zero wins and eight strikeouts.

Behind a 3-0 record over the past week, Belle Plaine made the biggest jump in the Minnesota state rankings, all the way from 166 to 113.

The Redbirds boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. Montgomery-Lonsdale's pitchers have been charged with only 127 hits and have struck out 96 batters. Trevor Turek is tops on the staff with 32 Ks.

The Redbirds, the league leader in stolen bases this season with 26, added to their lead in that category with 22 more steals over the past week. Manager Bruce Davis is giving his players opportunities to steal, and Dalton Zeug has racked up a team-high five stolen bases for Montgomery-Lonsdale.
