Football Game Preview: Inlet Grove Hurricanes vs. King's Academy Lions

Inlet Grove hasn't had much luck against King's Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hurricanes are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Inlet Grove beat Somerset Academy South Homestead 25-12.

Inlet Grove's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cornelius Terry, who rushed for 158 yards on only six carries, and Rj Hickox, who threw for 207 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes. Terry's longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. A healthy portion of Hickox's aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Xavier Cooper.

Meanwhile, King's Academy slipped by American Heritage 15-14 on Friday.

Inlet Grove better keep an eye on Fletcher Hodges. He was instrumental in King's Academy's win, rushing for 154 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

King's Academy's run defense was locked in: American Heritage could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Levi Champion for the heroic effort on defense: he. King's Academy didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.9.

King's Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Inlet Grove, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Inlet Grove lost to King's Academy on the road by a decisive 17-0 margin in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
