Baseball Recap: North Smithfield Comes Up Short

North Smithfield lost against Scituate on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Northmen took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Nick Tremblay was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of North Smithfield's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 3-1 (and 7-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Dennis Sullivan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

North Smithfield has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Scituate, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

As of now, neither North Smithfield nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
