Clinton had lost eight straight, but after bumping their record up to 6-14 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Weatherford Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Tornadoes have posted since March 13th.

Clinton's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Declan Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Brown has posted since back in March.

As for Weatherford, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-9. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

On Weatherford's side, Grayson Dunn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. Dunn has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kalen Clift made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Preston King also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Clinton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Weatherford: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
